Item Description

A superb jewel-shaped crystal of calcite, 4.5 cm, sits perched as if it was held in a cup of matrix, accented by small dogtooth calcite crystals (scalenohedral crystals). The larger calcite is a classic twin style of calcite, twinned about the middle; and it has really lustrous twinning faces there. It is complete, perfect, cute all around! Old material from this famous Chinese silicon (wollastonite) mine, produced as byproduct to the mining for the wollastonite veins. Ex Paul Stahl collection.
