Item Description

A showy and rare combination piece from a New Find in a less well-known area of China - the Dali Prefecture in Yunnan Province. Glassy, complex, light amber calcite rhombs to 2.0 cm attractively crown the crest of the mounded matrix and interestingly divide two generations of amethyst. One side is covered with sharp, water-clear, blush-purple amethyst points with nifty, rust-red, hematite phantoms. The other slope is covered with tiny, sparkly, drusy amethyst. One cleaved calcite rhomb is noted and the amethyst point field has only a bit of periphery wear. Excellent, highly representative material from this new find.
