Item Description

A showy and excellent combination specimen from a VERY RARE New York locale in St. Lawrence County, near the famous Balmat mines. The sharp, intergrown calcite scalenohedrons are lustrous and translucent, milky-white with light amber terminations and are aesthetically set on a two-sided crust covered with small oxide-coated, pyrite pyritohedrons. The two, side-by-side calcites are doubly teminated, pristine and the largest is 5.2 cm. Ex Schlichter Collection. RARE and showy material.
