Item Description

Sparkly, drusy calcite rhombs coat a sculptural crust of malachite or chrysocolla pseudomorphs after azurite crystals from the famous and extinct copper deposits at Globe. The striking, sharp blocky azurite pseudo is 1.5 cm. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 3310 and acquired from Dawson's Minerals in the mid-1960s. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Velt" November-December 2017). A very fine pseudo from Globe.
