Item Description

Calcite specimens from this old-time Mexican district are extremely rare and are very seldom on the market. That being said, this is a fabulous, tapered, pseudohexagonal, modified scalenohedron. Most of the glassy crystal is water-clear with very lightly frosted faces. The termination area has very nifty interior zoning and unusually etched corners. A possibly unique calcite with striking form from this very uncommon locale. Ex Robert Whitmore Collection.
