Item Description

Even though Calcite from Germany isn't rare, this piece is the first example of Calcite that we've had to offer from the Eupel Mine (which includes the Glucksstern Mine and the Rasselskaute Mine). Sharp, compressed rhombic crystals of white Calcite measuring up to 3.6 cm across completely cover the display side of this attractive small cabinet display specimen. If you collect worldwide Calcites, or German minerals, this is a great piece to add to your suite as it's from an obscure locality and certainly is not seen in any quantity on the market today. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#4673). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Velt" November-December 2017).
