Item Description

A large, twinned, doubly terminated, glassy, cognac colored, twinned Calcite crystal is set on a shard of gray-white breccia with a duo of smaller Calcite crystals. This super lustrous scalenohedral crystal is absolutely gorgeous and a must for those that have missed out on these amazing Calcites, especially from the early finds at the Elmwood Mine in the 1990's such as this one. The twin plane is very distinct and adds added complexity to this extraordinary crystal! In excellent condition with only a tiny cleave at the very tip on one termination of the large Calcite , and the small Calcite facing to the rear is incomplete. If it were pristine, this would be a $5000-plus specimen. it has the right look, luster, color...so somebody will get a great bargain here. Elmwood calcites are common enough, in general - but not with such aesthetics.
