Calcite (twins) with iron oxide inclusions

A fantastic large cabinet sized Calcite specimen from the Fengjiashan Mine (Daye Copper Mine) in China hosting superb, attractive, large, razor-sharp, highly lustrous, translucent, pale, peachy pink (iron-included) to nearly colorless twinned scalenohedral crystals. When it comes to Chinese Calcites, Daye Co. has produced some of the finest extant, and this one is no exception. Virtually all of the crystals are pristine, save one at the bottom that unfortunately is cleaved. Otherwise, the piece is in great shape and due to its depth and three-dimensional quality, is very difficult to photograph, so it does look better in person. It's quite rare to find pieces of this size and quality on the market today, and it should be noted that this piece was mined in the early 2000s. Valued $3,000.
