Item Description
A very fine and showy, CABINET calcite specimen from a most uncommon Iowa locality in Lee County - the Hawkeye Quarry. Striking, upright, disk-like, tapered calcite rhombs to a large 8.5 cm comprise this dramatic piece. The glassy, translucent crystals have nifty striated faces. Complete all-around and nearly pristine, with only a bit of termination edgewear and cleaving, nearly all on the backside. rare, large material from the George Feist Collection # 1729.
