Item Description

Documented specimens from the Stonewall Mine are SUPER RARE compared to those from the nearby renowned Elmwood Mine. The MINDAT photo gallery for the mine features only two examples compared to over 1300 for the Elmwood! This is a sculptural two-sided cluster of very glassy, highy lustrous calcite crystals. The striking jagged sawtooth terminations, some with the highly desirable gemmy golden-amber terminations are the dramatic highlight of the piece on both sides. The front features an impresssive 6.2 cm, doubly terminated crystal with gemmy amber tips and the back is nicely accented with tiny calcites. This rare and fine calcite was donated by the Kielbaso's to the 2006 Rochester Symposium Auction.
