Item Description

An incredibly hard to find specimen of Calcite from the Santa Fe Mine in Ottawa County, Oklahoma. This is the first and only specimen of this material that we've had to offer in the aucitons. A beautiful group of well-formed, modified scalenohedra with rich golden color, good gemminess and beautiful crystal arranegment. The vast majority of the crytals are undamaged (save the periphery where it was removed from the pocket), and the largest crystals measures 1.6 cm long. Minor marix can be seen on the back / underside of the piece as well. A really attractive and fine quality specimen for anybody who collect Calcites, minerals of the United States or specifically Oklahoma minerals. Don't miss out, these are ridiculously rare on the market, especially in such well-preserved examples. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#987). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
