Item Description

An impressive, large old-time combination from the famous Copper Queen Mine at Bisbee. Striking, beautiful, dendritic native copper "trees" coated with malachite, are aesthetically scattered on two sides of the sculptural calcite crystal lined vug in the hefty banded gossan matrix, which may include cuprite. The exquisite, large well-placed "tree" is 1.5 cm tall. Previously in the Mike Cunningham Collection. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 666 and acquired from the Bradley's in the 1950s. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). Adorable large old crystallized copper on calcite from the Queen.
