Mineral specimens of ANY type are EXTREMELY RARE from this dimension stone quarry in the Organ Mountains. MINDAT does not list the locality. A striking and rich field of hematite-tinted dogtooth calcite crystals, to 2.0 cm, is dramatically and preferentially coated with drusy quartz. A major SURPRISE is that SW UV light reveals the drusy quartz also hosts neon-green fluorescent hyalite opal! VERY RARE combination material from this obscure locale from the Chris Cowan New Mexico Collection. A MUST for the locality or species collector!
