Calcite with Marcasite "phantom"

The Linwood Mine in recent years has produced some amazing large sandy colored GEM quality Barite crystals, but most collectors have not seen the attractive Calcites from this locality. Here we have a fantastic small cabinet display specimens featuring a razor-sharp, lustrous, gemmy, pale golden colored rhomb of Calcite measuring 2.3 cm featuring a beautiful grey-black "phantom" of Marcasite aesthetically flaring off of the underlying matrix. A few smaller accenting Calcite crystals of equal quality with the same internal Marcasite "phantoms" can be seen on the specimen as well. The piece is in excellent condition, though one tiny imperfection can be seen on the corner of the main Calcite rhomb. Very attractive and showy, and I'm told that these pieceare not easy to find in good display specimens like this.
