Large and showy Calcites with a glamorous dusting of Pyrite on matrix from the 2007 one-time find in Chenzhou of these dramatic, machined-looking crystals showing amazing patterns!!! The Calcites are sharp and well formed rhombohedron crystals that are transparent to translucent and clear to light gray in color. They are accented with glittering golden to iridescent microcrystalline Pyrite crystals that are preferential oriented along the edges of the Calcite rhombs. The large main crystal is 5.6 cm from base to tip with natural interrupted crystal growth from additional Calcite crystals. It also has great stepped-growth faces up the side. The piece is in excellent condition with only the right small rhomb having a cleaved back face that is out of display sight (only a modest detraction to this dramatic and aesthetic large matrix piece). Highly sought after Calcite with Pyrite material from a limited one time find with very few matrix specimens.
