Calcite with Quartz (sharp, unusual locality!)

Item Description

Outstanding 5.3 cm rhomb of tan Calcite, sitting with Quartz crystals, on matrix. The sheer quality of the geometry of the piece adds greatly to the aesthetics, and you would be hard pressed to put the individual pieces together any better if you could build it yourself. This small cab came without a specific location, so Kay did her best using her extensive knowledge of this region to narrow it down to the (Riff) Kees area of Hohe Tauern. This had not yet been catalogued by Kay, so it does not have a formal collection number.
