Item Description

A striking and most unusual combination specimen from the much less well-known Huinac Mine of Peru. Sharp, slightly translucent, gray, flattened to blocky, calcite rhombs are aesthetically set in a forest of starkly contrasting snow-white quartz stalactites!. The calcites are included with an unknown sulfide from this lead-zinc mine. The impressive large rhomb is 4.3 cm. This dramatic and strange looking piece is complete all-around and pristine, except for very modest periphery wear. I've never seen a Peru calcite with quite this form.
