Item Description

A great combo specimen from this classic Leadhills of Scotland. This piece features blue Caledonite in association with Cerussite on matrix. The crystallization shows small "fibrous" turquoise blue Caledonite and some minor "sprays". It's a good representation of the material to be sure. The Leadhills are actually the type locality for Caledonite, so if you collet minerals from the type locallity, this is a GREAT pickup for your collection as they are virtually impossible to find on the market. According to the label, the yellow drusy material on the piece is unidentified. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#5234). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). An attractive old-timer from this famous locale.
