Item Description
Impressive, sculptural and hefty pair of intergrown twinned cassiterite crystals from the famous Viloco Mine of Bolivia. High luster on the many faces shields the black to dark brown crystals with scattered areas of desirable yellow-brown translucence. Some crystals yield facet-grade gemmy crystals, a rarity. Never common from from the mine, despite Bolivia probably producing more tin than any other country in the world, these are seldom on the market today. 189 grams mass. Complete all-around. Only a little contacting where it grew against something, on the back and base is out-of-sight. A fine cassiterite from the noted locale.
