Item Description

Bolivia has probably produced more tin than any other country in the world. The great tin mines at Viloco (sometimes called Araca) have produced some of the most magnificent Cassiterite specimens extant. This particular specimen consists of fine, sharp, semi-lustrous, translucent, white to golden to black cyclic twinned crystals, forming a nice thumbnail sized specimen. An attractive piece, with a lovely "flower"-like form. The piece is in great shape overall, with just a few small nicks here and there, and would make a nice addition to any Bolivian suite or thumbnail collection.
