Bolivia has probably produced more tin than any other country in the world. The great tin mines at Viloco (sometimes called Araca) have produced some of the most magnificent Cassiterite specimens extant. This particular specimen consists of good, sharp, lustrous, translucent, brownish cyclic twinned crystals, forming a nice thumbnail sized specimen. This is an attractive piece and one of the better ones for quality, luster and crystal size that we've offered in recent months The piece is in good shape overall on the display side, with just a few small nicks here and there, and would make a nice addition to any Bolivian suite or thumbnail collection.
