Item Description

This is a good quality miniature specimen of the uncommon Camborne Cassiterites. Even though Cornwall was known for its tin, good crystallized specimens of the ore are not common from Camborne in my experiec.e This piece features many notably GEMMY, golden-brown to black colored crystals of Cassiterite with minor Quartz on massive Cassiterite matrix. The crystals measure up to 4 mm, and are rather sharp and lustrous. If you look with a loupe, the crystals are beautiful up close. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#4969). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record).
