A rare sharp cassiterite crystal from this obscure greisen and quartz vein-type tin-tungsten deposit in far Eastern Siberia, close to Alaska. The euhedral splendent black to mottled brown metallic crystal is sharply terminated and has striking columnar prism faces. Complete all-around and in good shape. The front has only a bit of contacting on the lower right. Back faces are contacted, but this is little actual damage. These are considered to be outstanding cassiterite specimens and came out sparingly in the 1980s and 90s. A fine example of the species and locale from the Chester Lemanski Collection. We just acquired his large collection. Read about Chester at his mindat.org Home Page: https://www.mindat.org/user-461.html.
