Item Description

An uncommon, impressive, sculptural and diverse trio of cassiterite variety "wood tin" specimens from this less well-known New Mexico tin mining district. One striking piece is composed of highly lustrous, brown, well-rounded bubbly botryoids. The large piece has black bubbly botryoids. The third is a highly unusual bean-shaped banded nodule with a stalk. A super and rare 3-piece deal from the Kay Robertson Collection #'s 9671, 9672 and 9673 and acquired from dealer Harvey Gordon in September, 1982. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). A MUST for the New Mexico or species collector.
