Item Description

This piece is one of the largest single clusters of cavansite I have seen in 20 years of looking, with a HUGE ball 2 inches across serving as pedestal for the nearly 2-inch-wide cluster of clusters sitting atop. The base pinwheel is contacted or broken in front, where you see into the interior of the spherical aggregate - actually kind of interesting, to see those radiating spokes. The clusters atop are pristine and complete all around, 360 degrees, with no damage at all. So the piece sits nicely, dramatically. It is a LOT of blue color in one place. Cavansite weighs/masses very little, really. A big cavansite ball might be 10 grams on its own. In fact, this cluster is 84 grams which is a huge concentration for this species.
