There are some signature mineral species in the world that are instantly recognizable for their color, and the fact that they are only seen predominantly from one place in the world. Cavansite is one of these minerals, since it's really only found from Wagholi in any capacity, though it is found in other places in the world. The species is beloved by collectors and dealers due to the fact that it has one of the most distinctive colors in the mineral world. There might be a fair number of them on the market now, but most are not nearly as fine as this piece, and you won't see them forever. Rumors keep swirling as to whether Wagholi is completely flooded and unminable, or if the quarry is being filled in to make room for the ever growing housing market in Pune, but eventually one day there will be no more Cavansite on the market. This piece hosts a few gorgeous clusters or radial "sprays" of glowing intense blue Cavansite sitting atop gemmy, bladed, beige colored Stilbite sitting on basalt matrix. The largest Cavansite aggregate measures 1.1 cm across. No real damage that I can see on the display side. Priced at $750 in the inventory.
