Item Description

Amazingly sculptural large 360-degree cave calcite combination material from the famous Southwest Mine at Bisbee. It looks a branching coral reef! A dramatic arborescent cluster of two generations of stacked bubbly calcite botryoids have striking spiky sprays of aragonite needles preferentially perched on some of the tips of the botryoids. Bone-white drusy calcite covers the first generation of glassy, translucent amber calcite exposed at the broken base. The SURPRISE neon-green fluorescent coating of hyalite opal is revealed by UV light! Complete all-around an pristine. An outstanding example of combination cave calcite with even the mine level known from the Dr. Barratt Phillips Collection.
