Item Description

Sakoany celestines are considered to be amongst the finest in the world and the fine article in the recent issue of the Mineralogical Record confirms this lofty status. Geodes have an attraction and magnetism all their own because they tell a story of how these form, and the striking celestine geodes from Madagascar show that appeal clearly. The fine blue-grey crystals line the pocket and have superb luster. The largest of the crystals is about 5 cm, though the average is more in the 3-4 cm range. Glassy and gemmy, they just draw the eye in. Naturally, there had to be some damage from simply opening the geode. Scattered bruising and periphery wear are noted. A good example of these famous geodes.
