Celestite

Item Description

Choice and and exceptional for the area, this Celestite is from Hastings County in Ontario. The single, bladed crystal is tapered, and ends in a nice chisel-point termination. The surfaces are lustrous and the grey-blue color is classic for the species. Translucent to gemmy, the crystal transmits enough light so that you can appreciate the internal structures, as well as the color. Probably the finest Celestite that I have seen from Hastings, this was #7831 in Kay's collection. Better in person.
