Item Description

A very sharp, lustrous and robust Cerussite twin from Tsumeb with one prominent component sticking straight up and a shorter twin component off to one side. This is a relatively tall, elegant twin with the large component measuring 5.8 cm and the shorter one 2.5 cm. It's an impressive piece with sharply defined edges and faces along with great terminations. Internally, the main crystal exhibits a lovely, translucent, silky sheen and both components have gemmy terminations with a smoky hue. Remarkably this old-timer is in exceptional condition with only a couple of miniscule nicks, not any real detraction visually. Notice it LOOKS like a single untwinned crystal on first glance, but it is a twin, the large one growing out of the smaller one at the base at the right angle. So it is a "checkmark twin" rather than the more common V twin.
