Cerussite and Malachite (classic locale)

Classic, very showy and rich cerussite and malachite small cabinet combination. Adamantine luster, very glassy, gemmy, cyclically-twinned cerussite crystals richly litter mounded specimen with striking, contrasting velvet malachite, a typical accessory. The cerussite crystals, some striated, reach 1.5 cm long. The underlying hefty matrix is mostly cerussite with some malachite. The rich piece is from the two old well-known 1970s excavations at this famous small copper-lead-zinc prospect - Brown's Prospect at Rum Jungle. See the 1980 Mineralogical Record article in Vol. 11, No. 5. The deposit was commercially mined starting in 2009. This is an extremely RICH and excellent cerussite specimen from the famous locale. For the quality of the cerussite, it leaps out. Valued $800-plus.
