When it comes to crystallized Cerussite specimens, some of the finest and most iconic examples of the species are those from the prolific Tsumeb Mine. These amazing and highly quality specimens are beloved by collectors for their fantastic size, quality and crystallization. There are few places in the world that can compete with Tsumeb Cerussites both in quantity and quality. They are certainly among the most sought after and beloved Cerussites in the world. This piece is a wonderful, fairly thick crystallized specimen comprising translucent, soft smoky colored crystals of Cerussite forming a classic reticulated twinned "snowflake"-esque specimen with very minor attached matrix. The piece is in excellent condition, with no major damage that I can find. A wonderful old time specimen from the world's most famous locality dating back at least 50 years.
From the worldwide collection of Richard ("Rich") A. Kosnar (1946-2007), the famous mineral dealer and collector from Colorado. He was the namesake for the rare zirconium phosphate mineral, Kosnarite.
