Item Description

Striking dense nests of classic adamantine luster cerussite lathes are richly scattered on three sides of the hefty ore matrix with malachite on this showy old combination from this historic district. Mining started in the 1100's and continued until the 1930s, when the last mine closed (MINDAT). Ex Kay Robertson Collection and acquired from Brian Lloyd. Her label was lost during the move. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). Excellent and rich old-time cerussite and malachite with the old number on the back.
