Wow, just to say it first....this is a favorite piece in the auction with a totally unique look and feel, from any other matrix cerussite you have ever seen. Again, Tsumeb shows its devotion to impressing us with unique combinations of species not found elsewhere. This is an elegant and rare combination specimen from Tsumeb! The contrasting matrix hosts an architectural latticework of reticulated Cerussite, nicely composed atop a pyramidal shaped pedestal of Cobalt-bearing hot pink Smithsonite. The large reticulated, fractal-pattern of the Cerussite has a bright silky luster with a distinct cream color and displays prominently on the pink Smithsonite. The aesthetics, the unlikeliness of finding such a piece, are just ridiculous! The translucent pink Cobalt-bearing Smithsonite crystals reach size to 7 mm and serve as the perfect, contrasting base for the cream colored, three-dimensional Cerussite latticework. It is a surreal specimen, visually. This is a very attractive, incredibly aesthetic and colorful three-dimensional small cabinet Tsumeb specimen for ANY species and any collection! This combination of species is rarely seen, but the dramatic presentation here is...in our experience...never seen. A highly valuable, displayable, competitive matrix cerussite. Valued $10,000-plus.
