Item Description

The Ojuela Mine is one of the most well-known specimen producing localities in Mexico. The wide range of species, often found in showy colorful display specimens makes it an iconic worldwide locale. While Ojuela is well-known for secondary ore minerals like Adamite and Mimetite, Cerussite is notably rare. This piece is a incredibly hard to find matrix display specimen featuring white, gemmy / translucent, reticulated crystals of Cerussite sitting atop velvety, radiating acicular crystals of beautiful Malachite on oxidized matrix. The largest individual blade of Cerussite measures 8 mm. Very little damage, and the excellent combination of the white Cerussite on the green Malachite is striking! A must-have specimen for any fan of Cerussites, Mexican minerals or specifically minerals from the Ojuela Mine. The piece is from the collection of Jason New - 2012.
