Item Description

The famed Ojuela Mine is Mexico is one of the country's premier localities, well-known for secondary ore minerals like Adamite and Mimetite, but Cerussite is notably rare. Here we have an impressive and incredibly hard to find matrix specimen featuring white/colorless, gemmy/translucent, reticulated crystals of Cerussite associated with velvety, acicular crystals of beautiful emerald green Malachite on oxidized matrix. The largest individual blade of Cerussite measures 1.3 cm. Very little damage and the excellent combination of the white Cerussite with the green Malachite is striking. Cerussite is rare enough from this mine, but to find a piece with Malachite is exceedingly rare in my experience, I have to believe very few pockets were found, and this one is certainly one of the best we've ever had to offer from this prolific mine. Valued $1,750.
