Item Description
The Mfouati Mine is well-known for its beautiful lead minerals, including some of the most attractive Cerussite specimens from any locality in the entire country. This piece features a few sharp, well-formed, lustrous, striated, translucent, smoky-silvery colored twinned crystals of Cerussite measuring up to 1.7 cm, aesthetically perched atop matrix. There are tiny sparkling reddish-brown crystals on the matrix as well, but I cannot identify them. The Cerussites are in very good condition, though there is a ding on the top-most portion of the crystals, so the piece is not 100% damage free. A very showy and fairly hard to find matrix display specimen from this renowned locality.
