Cerussite with Rosasite

Enchanting and unusual MACHINED-LOOKING cluster of elongated, twinned crystals of Cerussite from Tsumeb. The longest crystal is an impressive 5.8 cm, and the excellent luster serves to highlight the gemmy to translucent interiors. The twinning causes a delicate, boxwork pattern within the crystals, and this in turn creates the ribbed striations that add so much character to the already elegant crystals. Blue-green Rosasite adds color and contrast, and really stands out against the clear, adamantine Cerussite. There is even a lovely moonglow fluorescence that has a soft beauty all its own. Great aesthetics and form help make this a wonderful Tsumeb specimen, and it is even better in person. An old piece (from the 1970s or earlier, from her numbering), long in the Pohl collection, of a style I cannot recall seeing very often.
