Chalcedony stalacitites

A striking, parallel-growth, pair of multi-hued and multi-layered, translucent, chalcedony stalactites from a recent in Java, Indonesia. The preferential coating on the stalactites is dramatic. This cluster is shaped like different sized smokestacks. The broken base reveals the hollow tubes in the centers, where the silica-rich solutions flowed to form the stalactites. This one has colors from pink to lavender to burnt-orange. Pristine. Colorful and unusual material from an exotic locale for mineral specimens!
