Item Description

Jasper, an iron-rich variety of chalcedony or quartz, is RARE from the Traprock deposits around Farmington. This sliced and polished variable brown nodule has nice internal laminations and patterns, that add character. Probably from the old Farmington Trap Rock Quarry, that was active until the early 1930s. This old-timer could furnish 7 4-mm slabs of diminishing size. From an East Coast collection and comes with a faded century-old label. RARE Connecticut and a must for the locality or species collector.
