Item Description
A showy and excellent plate from the historic Geevor Mine of Cornwall. Green coating of possible malachite coats platy chalcocite crystals, nicely set in a vug in quartz and massive chalcocite matrix. A rich, hefty for its size, copper ore specimen from this historic, rich mine that operated intermittently from the late 1700s to 1990! Malachite, or any other green copper mineral whatever it may be, would be unusual. Ex Wes Parker Collection.
