Item Description

A lovely old time specimen of the rare hydrated zinc manganese oxide Chalcophanite from the famous Ojuela Mine in Mexico featuring sub-metallic silvery-grey colored botryoidal growths on Limonite. Some translucent, colorless Calcite crystals can be seen here and there, but are more prevalent on the reverse side of the piece. Hard to find on the market, and this one dates back many decades, so it's a rare antique specimen that would make a nice addition to suite of Mexican minerals or specimens from the Ojuela Mine.
