Item Description

This is a rare Chalcophanite specimen from the Cole Mine in Bisbee. This hydrated zinc manganese oxide is not often found in good quality display specimens, and this piece is a fine example featuring sparkling silvery-black Chalcophanite botryoids on matrix. Very good quality all around, with only peripheral contacts. The very rich Cole Shaft produced ore intermittently from 1905 to 1975. One of the best pieces of this material that we've had to offer.
