Item Description

Sharp, intergrown chalcopyrites to 1 cm are perched aesthetically on quartz on this very fine miniature specimen. It is an old classic, now seldom seen. The provenance starts in the late 1800s or early 1900s with a collector named A. Pearse Jenkin, from whom it went to the noted collector Arthur Russell (and retains his hand-written label). From him, it went to Spanish collector Joaquin Folch in 1977 (and his label card notes that Russell was said to have acquired the piece in 1926). Superb miniature, with superb provenance!
