Item Description

"Very large chalco for district" sharp, brassy chalcopyrite sphenoids, to 7 mm, are nicely scattered on the two large intergrown gemmy and lustrous, color-zoned fluorite cubes from the famous Annabel Lee Mine. The glassy cubes have lightly frosted stepped-growth faces with straw-yellow interiors and pretty sharp purple and blue edge phantoms. The dominating cube is 4.9 cm on edge. The cubes are preferentially richly peppered with tiny barites and scattered tiny calcites making fine accessories. A MAJOR surprise is the bright yellow hydrocarbon fluorescence in the interior surrounded by purple fluorite fluorescence! This very showy, aesthetic and rare combination is from the Ross Lillie Collection # 0476 and was collected in October, 1995 during pillar robbing near the incline.
