Item Description

Specimens of Chalcopyrite from the Dreislar Mine in Germany are well-known among collectors. The combination of the metallic Chalcopyrites sitting on Barite and / or Dolomite make for a beautiful contrast. This piece features small sparkling golden Chalcopyrite crystals sitting on pink Dolomite matrix. Small associated crystals of Calcite make for a nice tough. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#3261). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Velt" November-December 2017).
