Item Description

A striking and rare 2.0 cm "ball" of stacked, metallic, brassy chalcopyrite crystals is dramatically set amongst color-zoned violet fluorite cubes with nifty edge phantoms. There are also tiny rubyjack sphalerite crystals scattered around. A compound chalcopyrite of this quality is extremely rare from the famous mines at Cave-in-Rock and this is an exceptional and aesthetic combination specimen from the Jaime Bird Collection and dates from the 1960s or early 70s. At $65, this was not a cheap specimen then! Faint purple fluorescence.
