Item Description

A very hard to find display specimen of Chalcopyrite from the famous Chino Mine in New Mexico. This locality is known for its copper and species containing copper, but Chalcopyrites are exceedingly rare on the market. This piece is a lovely and showy example featuring several very sharp, well-formed, brassy (and slightly iridescent), metallic crystals measuring up to 8 mm on gemmy prismatic Quartz matrix. No major damage that I can find, and certainly a desirable and fine quality piece for any fan of sulfides, copper minerals or specimens from the Chino Mine / New Mexico.
