Item Description

Childrenite specimens are RARE from the famous phosphate deposits at Rapid Creek. Sharp, lustrous, translucent, golden-brown prisms with accenting tiny quartz points line a sculptural 2.7 cm vug aesthetically set in the small cabinet matrix. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 8918 and acquired from Upper Canada Minerals at the 1980 Tucson Show. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). An excellent, rare and rich childrenite from the locale. Seldom on the market today.
