Chromium rich Diopside (Chet Lemanski Coll.)

Item Description

Striking rich emerald-green color on this highly lustrous, partially gemmy, euhedral chromium diopside crystal from this well-known pegmatite area of Minas Gerais. Both ends are contacted, as are portions of the prism faces. Very few of these came out a number of years ago and this a highly representative specimen of this species and locality. Ex Chet Lemanski Collection. This green hue is a knockout. It really lights up in bright light. Highly unusual. one of the few true surprises i have seen recently in this large collection as we sort it.
